The BlueWater Desert Challenge was made up of a 23-mile-long loop course along the Colorado River, which is said to be the most challenging and scenic courses in the series. Despite the unique year 2020 has turned out to be, BITD was able to get the green light on many races with special COVID-19 safety measures that were put into place. To cap it all off, it was the most fitting final race of the year to end in Parker, AZ as it was the same place where the series started with the 2020 Tensor Tire Parker 250 back in January. A record-breaking number of 334 teams showed up with their eyes on the top spots.

Starting with Justin Lofton who not only won first place overall, but also took the Maxxis Triple Crown Justin says, “Picking up the overall was a great way to end the 2020 BITD season. It was a difficult year and my team and partners never gave in. Looking forward to 2021. The weekend went great picking up the win Saturday and 3rd on Sunday. We debut our new FOX RAD live valve suspension. And it outperformed my expectations. The strategy was just about to go out and go as fast we could. We had one flat on Sunday which put us back a couple spots physically on course.”

In the UTV Youth Race Dallas Gonzales took first with an elapsed time of 00:40:37.250 and a close and strong run by Ethan Groom with 00:41:50.832. Going to the 6100 class Kyle Jergensen was named the winner, the 2020 Best In The Desert Series Class 6100 Championship and the 2020 Maxxis Triple Crown Limited Class Series. “Honestly it was textbook,” Kyle says. “No problems, flats, hiccups of any kind. Day two we knew we didn’t have to win the day to win the race, so we played very smart and let Griffith and Grabowski push hard in the dust while we were just being smooth. They had to pass us and put 40 seconds on us to win and I knew that that wasn’t very likely, so we didn’t stress that they were that close to us all day.”
